Live face swap desktop app

A Windows app is planned. It will add a system virtual camera so OBS, Zoom and stream apps can select LiveFaceSwap as a camera, using the same account and credits as the browser studio. It is not released yet, and there is no download today.

Status: planned · no release date

Not released. The button is disabled and nothing downloads.

What the desktop app will add

  • Planned: a system virtual camera. OBS, Zoom, Meet, Teams and Discord will be able to pick LiveFaceSwap as a camera instead of capturing a browser window.
  • Planned: a shorter setup path for streams. Open the app, choose a reference, go live, and the live output is already available as a camera device.
  • Planned: the same three modes as today — Face Swap, Restyle and Try-On on LiveFaceSwap V1 — with the same per-second billing.

How it will relate to the browser studio

The intent is one product, not two: one account and one credit balance across the browser studio and the desktop app. The browser studio is live now and bills 0.6 credits per live second, with a 900-second cap per session and the unused reservation returned when you stop.

No desktop price has been announced. The desktop app is planned to spend the same credits you already buy for the browser, including the 10 free credits a new account gets.

What works today in the browser

The browser studio is the shipped product. Open the live studio, allow the camera, add one reference image and start a session — no GPU and nothing to install. Face Swap, Restyle and Try-On all run on LiveFaceSwap V1.

  • Streaming today: capture the studio window in OBS. See the OBS guide.
  • Calls today: share the browser window or tab in Zoom, Meet or Teams. See the calls guide.
  • The virtual camera itself ships with the desktop app; the virtual camera guide explains what it will change.

System and platform plans

Windows is the first planned target. macOS and Linux are not committed, and we will not publish requirements for an app that does not exist yet. The browser studio needs only a webcam and a current version of Chrome, Edge or Safari on desktop.

Roadmap: the desktop app and its virtual camera are planned. Nothing on this page is downloadable, there is no release date, and no feature here should be treated as available. Shipped changes are recorded in the changelog.

FAQ

Is the desktop app available now?
No. The desktop app is planned. The only way to use LiveFaceSwap today is the browser studio at /#studio, and the download button on this page is disabled — nothing is installed and no file is downloaded.
Will the desktop app cost extra?
No desktop price has been announced. The plan is one account and one credit balance for both the browser studio and the desktop app, billed at 0.6 credits per live second like today.
What is a virtual camera?
A virtual camera is a camera device that other apps can select in place of a physical webcam. Our desktop app is planned to appear as a camera in OBS, Zoom, Meet, Teams and Discord, so the apps pick up the live output directly instead of capturing a window.
Can I stream with LiveFaceSwap today?
Yes, in the browser. Capture the studio window in OBS with window capture and crop it to the output stage; the OBS guide walks through it. The desktop app's virtual camera is the planned alternative to that setup.
